Reverse psychology is a technique that is used by many to achieve a desired outcome. One should not think that only adults are capable utilizing this form mental manipulation. Children will also use this technique, even if they do not realize exactly what they are doing. Too many times parents will listen to this techno-psycho babble and give in to their child’s whims just to put an end to the situation. This approach is definitely not the one to take. You must be strong and vigilant, and you must do what you know is right for the betterment of the child. Once the child learns, and they will learn quickly, that they can use this means to get what they want, your job will be greatly made more difficult. Always remember that you know what is best for them and not the other way around.
From the mouth of a squirrel comes wisdom.
